Arielle Jacobs to Make Her Broadway Debut as Nina in In the Heights

Arielle Jacobs will take over the role of uptown sweetheart Nina Rosario in Broadway’s In the Heights beginning November 15. The show's current Nina, American Idol winner Jordin Sparks, will play her final performance on November 14.

In the Heights is Jacobs’ Broadway debut after playing Nina in the show’s national tour. She has also played Gabriella in the national tour of High School Musical and appeared in workshops for the musicals MASK, GoGo Beach, and It Shoulda Been You. Her screen credits include Commander in Chief, Dance War, Water Lilies and Disney’s 365.

Jacobs joins a cast that includes Kyle Beltran as Usnavi, Marcy Harriell as Vanessa, Priscilla Lopez as Camila, Andrea Burns as Daniela, Olga Merediz as Abuela Claudia, Rick Negron as Kevin, Clifton Oliver as Benny and Shaun Taylor-Corbett as Sonny.

As previously announced, In the Heights will play its final performance at the Richard Rodgers Theatre on January 9, 2011, with Tony Award winner Lin-Manuel Miranda re-joining the cast on December 25.
